Is dinnerware microwave/dishwasher/oven safe?

Most of stoneware is glazed in order to be waterproof so that the surface is smooth and dishwasher safe. If the glaze doesn't contain metallic elements, they are safe to be used in the microwave. However, it may cause cracks or wear-out as the same as other dishwasher-safe ware due to high temperature or constant uses of a dishwasher. And most of stoneware is not made with heat-resistant clay, so we do not recommend it to be used in an oven. It will likely be cracked. Donabe pots are made with heat-resistant clay. It can go in the oven and is microwave-safe and can go right on a stovetop. Please season a pot properly before using it.

Why does not my wooden knife cover fit?

Wooden Saya is sensitive to temperature and moisture so it's possible that inside of the Saya you have become warped., and Sayas can feel like a very snug fit, make sure to guide the blade in, resting flat on the inside of the Saya if the knife does not fit in the first trial. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds of Saya covers. All sales of wooden Saya are final.

Is ceramic ware safe?

Japanese pottery manufacturers have been inventing glaze without lead or cadmium and almost all ceramic ware made in Japan does not include these toxic contents. It would be possible for decorative dishes for art (but not for meal purposes) to include these contents to create beautiful color.

What is Proposition 65?

The reason why some products have the Proposition 65 label on packages is because some ingredients or materials are roasted and anytime something is listed as a possible cause of disease on the OEHHA website.
